Me getting a quick selfie with Jony Ive at WWDC 2014.
That hair tho... 😂 He was awesome to talk with.
I have been interested in computers since I was just little kid, but I never thought that I would make a career out of it. In 2012 I received my first iPhone and I instantly knew that I wanted to be a part of this new industry that was mobile applications. In 2013, when WWDC was taking place, I watched the keynote and was instantly in a state of childish excitement as I watched iOS 7 be unveiled. I would spend the entirety of my summer learning the basics of Objective-C and by the end of the summer I released my first app, it was a simple web browser you may have heard of called MySocial for iOS. MySocial for iOS would go on to be my most successful application.
WWDC 2014
Of course I have released many more apps than just that one, but the first one is always the best story. I'm a self taught coder, future thinking, and have an entrepreneurs young spirit. Those three things are what got me a ticket to WWDC 2014. It was one of the best experiences of my life and I met a lot of fun and interesting people. I plan on going again in the near future if I can. I recommend if you are a developer, or want to be one, that it is one of the most influencing the things you can attend. I'm proud of the software that I make and love doing it, it's the only thing that can make me lose track of time and I'll keep creating new software for as long as that is true. If you take anything away from this, do what makes you happy even if it takes a lot of work, it's worth it. 😊
